Every dog who arrives at Lotta Dogs Rescue carries a story — some of heartache, some of survival, and many of both. But the moment they step through our gates, their story changes.

Many of our dogs come to us after being abandoned by owners who once promised to love them, left confused and alone in a world that suddenly had no place for them. Others are dogs we encounter during our street‑feeding outreach, where we bring food, water, and compassion to dogs struggling to survive on their own. And, many are pulled from euthanasia lists at high‑kill shelters, where overcrowding or medical needs leave them at risk despite the shelter’s efforts.

Here, they are no longer “strays,” “surrenders,” or “unwanted.” Here, they are family.

Our rescue and sanctuary was created for the dogs who need time, patience, and a place to simply breathe again. Some stay a few weeks while they heal. Some stay until the perfect family finds them.

And some -- with wounds too deep or pasts too painful -- stay forever, living out their lives surrounded by safety, gentleness, and unconditional love.

We provide food, shelter, enrichment, medical care, and soft beds… but what we give them most is love. The kind that rebuilds trust, restores confidence, and reminds them that humans can be kind.

Every dog deserves a chance. Every dog deserves a home. And if that home is with us forever, then we are honored to be their family.
